Today I was asking people to send in their mommy stories and I go two from Celeste Francesconi Hansen. Both were super cute stories, but I will only share one today. Thanks Celeste!
"One day I was sitting with my then five year old daughter. Whom loves babies and is always asking me when I am going to bring a new addition to our family. When she poked my belly and asked “When is the baby coming out.” Much to my dismay I had to explain to her that there was no baby, mommy was just fat. She pondered this for a while and then in her genuine curious tone asked what it is like for a baby to live inside my tummy. I tried my best to explain the conditions to her. She got a silly grin on her face “I remember what it is like in your tummy” She proudly told me. “I did summersaults and back flips”. A pensive look graced her face “Good times, Good times” She said, sending those of us in the room into a peal of laughter."
I laughed when I read this because I have had my sister tell me stories like this where people have asked her if she was pregnant. People sometimes have no shame. Little kids however, are different. It's more of a funny thing when they ask! It was cute how her daughter said she remembered being in her tummy. Have you ever been asked if you were pregnant when you weren't?
Check out her blog for more information on her!

What a cute story. I love it. I have been asked many times if I'm pregnant. Sigh. I just laugh it off.
ReplyDeleteSo funny! Love little kids' thinking. I was asked by a first-grader in a class that I was helping if I was pregnant when I was senior in high school - yeah bad! I just had a big lunch!
ReplyDeleteThe other time this 2 year old pointed to my belly and said baby...I lied to him - I wasn't ready for everyone to know that I was pregnant since it was early still and was so afraid of miscarriage.
